There was a mysterious disappearance from the second express to-night. Mr r.nd Mrs Gibson and their twenty-year-old daughter, Lisszio, wero passengers from Dnnedin. Lizzie was knftwn to be on the train as far as Clinton, hut has not been seen since, though her absence was not reported till tho train reached this side of Gore. Tho mother told a reportor who was on tho train that tho girl had said, " Mother, father's had a drop of drink. 1. feel like jumping off the train." It was suggested that tho girl might have left tho train at Gore, though tho parents state she knew nobody thei'e. A passenger says he knew the girl, and in his opinion she was not on the train when it reached Gore. Inquiries are being made and tho lino is being searched.
