THE SYDNEY STRIKE.
A CLERKS' UNION. (Received , November 7, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 7. As an outcome of the wharf labourers' strike a meeting of clerks adopted resolutions in favour of the formation of a Clerks' Union, and that any future request to them to do work other than that for which they had been engaged should be restricted. The resolutions have been forwarded to the steamship owners and the Wharf Labourers' Union, with a request for tho latter's co-operation.
LORD DENMAN'S ACCIDENT. (Received November 7, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, November 7 Lord Denman's collarbone was broken and he was much shaken and bruised. '

Late yesterday afternoon John M'Lees, forty-nine years of age, a single man, was killed while working in tho bush at log-hauling, a log breaking away off the truck and rolling over hiin. Death was instantaneous. WELLINGTON, November 7.
The body of the man found in the harbour yesterday has been identified as that of Duncan M'Coll, formerly assistant librarian in Parliament Buildings. M'Coll had been working on a farm at Waitotara, and came here for the races. He was last seen on October 25. The body appeared to have been in the water about nine days, and the features were unrecognisable. An inquest will bo held to-day.
