_ United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 7, 10 a.m.) A FIERCE GALE. LONDON, November 6. A tremendous gale has been experienced in Britain. It blew at a velocity of eighty miles an hour, with, tremendous blinding squalls and hail. The Dieppe-Newhaveu packet was blown ashore, and fifteen aeroplane sheds were wrecked. THE WITHDRAWAL OF '? THE BETRAYAL." There is much comment on Lord Beresford's withdrawal of llis naval book entitled "The Betrayal," after the review copies had been issued. THE BIRKBECK BANK. Mr Justice Nevillo has decided that the Birkbeck Bank directors exceeded their borrowing powers for banking, and that as the depositors had notice of the illegality they would come last in the distribution of the assets. A NEW ISLAND. A message from Port of Spain, West Indies, says that an extraordinary commotion of the sea and huge columns of smoke and flames were seen, and subsequently a new island appeared.
