VICTORIA RACING CLUB. THE RUNNING OF THE DERBY. United Press Association —By Electric T e legr a p li—Co py r i gh t. (Received November 6, 9.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, November G. Describing (he running of tho Derby the " Sydney Morning Ilerakl " says that the line was quickly broken by Posio, Durdans and Cisco, while Crown Grant, Wilari and Jacamar were aruong tho slowest to find their legs. Going out of the straight Jacamar got a blimp, which did not improve his chancos. Opening up the river stretc-h the leading division comprised Posio, Durdans and Woolerina. The last-named ran past Poaio at tho nine furlongs, and Posio faded out. After passing tho bridge Woolerina led along tho back to tho .sheda, where Radiator, Jacamar and Flaith were the nearest attendants. Meantimo Wilari was gradually working her way from the rear. As Posadas and Woolerina swung into the homo stretch Jacamnr, Cisco, Radiator and Crown Grant were in hot pursuit, Wilari coming through in fine style. Nenring the distance Jacamar forged to the front and victory was loudly proclaimed. Inside tho point Cisco put in a claim and the pair settled down (o fight it out, but Wilari appeared on the scene, getting on terms ere half the distance was reached. A great battle ensued. Cisco had Jacamar beaten inside that point, but succumbed to the prowess of Wilari, who, finishing with tho greatest resolution, beat him by a narrow margin. Jacamar finished at her girths—a great finish, worthy of the traditions of Flomington.

Tho " Tolegraph" says that all got well away, but Jacamai swung wide, and was last at the mile and a quarter. "Woolerina assumed control at the mile, and Jacamar, going great guns from that point, joined Radiator for second place. Woolerina began to cry a go as the home turn was reached, and the first to enter the homo stretch were Crown Grant, Jacamar and Radiator. Jacamar here shot out, putting up a length lead. The shouts of thousands proclaimed a victory. Radiator, Cisco, Piastre, with "Wilari outside, began to draw up to Jacamar, who was unable to stem the onslaught, and at half distance Wila.ri, Piastre and Cisco joined him. From that point a cracking finish resulted. Though Cisco locked like teaching home first, Wilari made a determined effort and passed him at the last stride, and won amidst great excitement by a head.
