Mr Champs Clark, speaking at Fro mont, Nebraska, declared that "ninetenths of the. United States population are in favour of the annexation of Canada. I don't care who hears ma say it." Mr Clark challenged Mr Taft to stand as Presidential candidate, on the solo question of annexation, and said that he would guarantee that he would dofeat Mr Taft.
