Ideal climatic conditions prevailed this morning, and a largo number oi spectators was present to watch proceedings, which wero of an interesting character. Practically all of the work was accomplished on tho , ploughed gallop, which having- been lightly | watered, provided capital going, although it ! was not fast for the early workers. Throughout the training operations this morning the moat prominent feature lias been the allround evenness of the work performod by tlio Cup horses, and the fact of nothing' of an outstanding character being acomplished, and although this morning's proceedings are practically the final serious efforts of tho Cup horses it cannot be said that the work has rendered the task of selecting the probable winner any easier. Jn fact the. efforts of Goodwin Park, Kilosteri, and Mulga Bill this morning were mo3t disconcerting, while Outlander, Iranui, Projectile, Cronstadi. and Kaiirou, only registered averago performances.
