Tlio Local Government Board announces that a seaman admitted to tlie> Shotley Naval Barracks, Suffolk, on October 10, developed symptoms of pneumonia. When his sputum was examined plague bacilli wore found. Tho source of the infection lias not boon ascertained, but no other case has occurred. SLANDER ACTION. A Capo Town message, says that Mr Frascr, a school inspector, was awarded a verdict for £25 in bis slander action against General llnrtzog.
