AUCKLAND, August 18
Ehrman was committed for trial today on further charges arising out of the wharf thefts. Hail was refused. Ehrman made a voluntary statement through his solicitor to the effect that Mr A. E. Glover, M.P., was not in any way connected with the matters with which he (Ehrman) was charged. The detective who arrested Ehrman, after his escape from custody at Te Kuiti. said Ehrman exclaimed : r ' There will be something sensational out of this. I am not going to take all the blame. My wife has £I6OO in property, and I have a good mind to commit suicide."
