Ban-it pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness and having used obscene language. On the charge of drunkenness ho was fined 5s and cost*, and on the charge of having used obscene language a fine of 40s and costs was inflicted. Erring Cyclists.—John Reynolds, for having ridden a cycle on the footpath, was fined 7s and cost*.—John Albert Blank, for having cycled after sunset without a light ntt.aehed to his machine, was fined 10s and costs. On the application of the police he was remanded for a week. Alleged Assault.—James A. Bridges (Mr Cass id y), a horse trainer at Riccarton, was charged with having assaulted Walter Bush (Mr Johnston), an apprentice who had been in his employ.
