Dkcxklnxess.—Two first offenders for drunkenness wore each fined 5s and costs, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Dkjxk and Complications.—Frederick George. Ban-it pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness and having used obscene language. On the charge of drunkenness ho was fined 5s and cost*, and on the charge of having used obscene language a fine of 40s and costs was inflicted. Erring Cyclists.—John Reynolds, for having ridden a cycle on the footpath, was fined 7s and cost*.—John Albert Blank, for having cycled after sunset without a light ntt.aehed to his machine, was fined 10s and costs. Thk Cross'incs.—Charles Guinney, George D. Gowie and John Rickerby, for having driven vehicles at other than a walking pace over public street crossings were each fined 10s and costs. A.v UvATTEKnKn Vehicle.—Archibald Parker, for having left a horse and cab unattended in Cathedral Square;, was fined 10s and costs. Waxtuciung Cows.—Thomas Rhodes, for having allowed eight cows to wander on the Sumner Road, was fined 10s and costs. Tlrr. Tramway By-law. - Robert Brown was fined on and costs for having smoked in a carriage of the Christchurch Tramway Board. Ax tfxLir.irricp Hoarding.—Charles Taylor, for having failed to light a hoarding in Cashel Street, was fined •5s and costs. Alt.v.oep Ckvkltt.—Alfred Tsayliss was charged with having cruelly illtreated a horse by working it whilst suffering from an open sore. After hearing the evidence the Bench imposed a fine of 20s and costs on tho defendant. Ai.i.Knijr> Brlakist; and Entehixi;.— Allan James T)ix was charged with having broken and entered the premises of William Garrard and having stolen therefrom guns and ammunition to the total value'of £3l 18s. On the application of the police he was remanded for a week. Alleged Assault.—James A. Bridges (Mr Cass id y), a horse trainer at Riccarton, was charged with having assaulted Walter Bush (Mr Johnston), an apprentice who had been in his employ. After hearing the evidence the Bench inflicted a fine of 40s and costs- on the defendant. Maixtk.vance. Alfred William Pouting, charged'' with the disobedience of a maintenance order, was remanded to appear at Wellington on Saturday. LYTTELTON. Wkpxespat. Jvly <j. (Before Mr 11. W. Family Difirkkxcks.— -Eliza Olsen charged Harry Olsen. her husband, with assault. Defendant admitted that a "''scuffle." had taken place. The evidence disclosed the I act that very unpleasant relations existed between the parties and the family. The Magistral.!' entered n conviction and discharged the. accused, On the personal application of the woman and with the husband's consent a separation order was granted. Olsen was ordered to contribute. 15s a week towards his wile's support., the latter to hare custody oi the three children.
