WANGANUI, July I. .Butter is retailing, as was predicted a few weeks at Is (id per lb. and even at that priee supplies- are short. Inquiries have been made all over the -"jininion, but only a limited quantity is procurable. There, are u tew thousand boxes in the freezer at Auckland, but the quantity is eveniy distributed amongst the merchants. It is expected that the present short-aye of supplies will last for the next live or six weeks, till the new cows begin to come in.
