ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
H.M.S. SUPERB ACCIDENT. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 4 3 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 3. On July 1 three seamen were suffocated on board H.M.S. Superb. It is now explained that, owing to the preparations for the naval review, 150 sacks of potatoes had to be stored in the Superb's hold. Some of these were diseased, and the doctors attribute the deaths to suffocation by carbon dioxide, caused by the decayed organic matter. [Peb Press Association.] ' NELSON, July 4. At the inquest touching the death of Mrs Hannah Barrowman, of Cape Foulwind, who was found drowned in the harbour, the evidence pointed to suicide, and a verdict was returned accordingly. The deceased had been despondent over financial matters and her mind was unhinged. There was nothing to show how she got into the water.
