LADIES' GOLF UNION. ANNUAL REPORT. A meeting of delegates of the Ladies' Golf Union was held at Warner's Hotel last evening, when tho honorary secretary for New Zealand (Mrs Mellsop) presented her report, which was adopted. The report stated thin good results had followed in club organisation and 111 the standard of general play through the better understanding and frequent adoption of the Union's principles and ru~.es. This year the Auckland, "£Jannevirke, Christchurch, Greymouth, Hastings, Hokitika, Hutt, Invercargill, Manawatu, Mastertcn, Miramar, Napier, North Otago, Otaki, Poverty Bay, P aero a, St Clair, Timaru Wanga-nui,''Wellington and Westport Clubs had. played for Union medals. It was explained that the Union's bronze medal was open for comoetition only to clubs exclusively using tho Union's system of handicapping' for club competitions. Any club cou.d set its own limit for long handicap players, but thero should' be a fair margin above 25 to mftica it worth while having a second grade. Thirty-five was suggested as a sfiitable .ixit for large clubs and 55 for smaller country clubs, in cases where it was deemed necessary to exceed the standard 40. There were now, twenty-nine clubs on the membership roll, Hastings, Paeroa, Westport and Hagley having joined &ftrly in the season. Waitemata had just been elected and Cambridge had withdrawn.
