DEATH IN A PADDED CELL
[Per Press Association.] h INVERCARGILL, August 6. 1 At the inquest oil John Hunter, who stiangled himself in a padded cell atthe hospital, Mr Stout, counsel for the*' family, commented severely on the action of the authorities' in leaving a. patient, subject to suicidal fits,, unai* tended. It was stated that in future the police had agreed to provide any' control that might be asked for. ■ A l ' verdict was returned that Hunter had died of strangulation, while of. unsound mind.
