At Buckingham Palace is a large silver inkstand, much prized by Queen Alexandra, which has those words engraved upon it, "To the Prince of Wales. Frcm one who saw him.conduct a blind beggar across the street. In memory of a kind and Christian action." This had happened in Pall Mall (luring the middle of the day. when the King, seeing the beggar's predicament, bad led hifii safely through the traffic.
