HOSPITAL BOARD.
NORTH OANTERBURY
A Kpcoial meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board'was held this afternoon to consider the revised by-laws for the control of the Ohnstchurch Hospital. Mr F. Horrell presided, and there were also present Messrs T. D. Bwig, K. Moore, W. W. TfUmer, W> P. Spencer, ,T. Henderson. J. H. Davidson, D. M'Millan. G Allison and H. B. Soren-. sen. Mesdames W. Ensom and Wilson.
The chairman said that i" revising the bv-law-s the committee had studied those" of the Auckland Hospital, and sot-oral which appeared suitable, as the Auckland .Hospital was conducted under virtually the same conditions, had been incorporated in the revised bs-lawra. Mr Allison said that tlio by-laws before the Board provided for the regulation of the uublie hospital only, and ho thought the Board should consider the oilier institutions under, its control, for which no by-laws had been made. The chairman, replied that he. knew the committee had not completed its work. It was imperative that by-laws for the hospital should be framed, and consideration of the other institutions, which would" not require such elaborate regulations, could be postponed. . The Board then proceeded to consider the draft of the by-laws in sections.
