AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE.
[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 3. The Board of Education has resolved to make agricultural science a compulsory subject in all district high schools, and will offer substantia! prizes for the best school gardens. Hie Board will also require students of the training colleges to take a course in nature study and agricultural science, and to take care of the maintenance of school gardens, as of special value in grading teachers. It was further resolved that the time had come when tho Minister should favourably consider tho advisableness of making a definite scheme of natural study and rural education in compulsory subjects for tho fifth and sixth standards in all country schools from grade four tvpwftrdo.
