ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FATALITY AT FENDALTON. A two-year-old boy, eon of Mr A. W. Scarr, of Fondalton, was killed by a horse last evening. The boy strayed from the house to where a horse was fording in the yard, and the horse suddenly kicked out. Its hoof hit the boy on the head, fracturing the-skull. Dr Gerald Russell was summoned, but nothing could be done for the child, who died at half-past two this morning. At an inquest before Mr H. W. Bishop, district coroner, to-day. evidence was given by Mr Scarr that the boy had run out of the kitchen into the yard, where a horse was feeding, and he had been found a few minutes later with his head crushed. Dr Gerald Russell gave evidence that tin 3 ohild was past medical aid when he had arrived. A verdict was returned that was accidentally caused by a kick from a horse.
