LONDON, August 1
By a railway collision at Oran, in Algeria, twenty-four persons were killed and forty injured.
A GUARD KILLED. (Received August 2, 8.50 a.m.)
PERTH, August 2
Owing to a wash-out on the Karridalo line a timber train was derailed and the engine precipitated over an embankment. The fuel truck was smashed and empty trucks were piled ~oii one another. The guard, John Stjarratt, was killed, but tho driver and fireman were uninjured.
