TIMAIIU-CfIRISTCHURCH RACE
Tho secretary'of the Loaguo of New Zealand Wheelmen states that tho Council of the League has been informed that a number of amateur cyclists have refrained from entering for the Timaru-Christchurch road race, being under the impression that they would lose their-'amateur status by competing. This idea, he says, is entirely erroneous. All sections of ride.rs are eligible to compete together in road, races, but amateurs must accept trophies instead of cash prizes offered, and they do not interfere with their amateur status. To afford these riders the. opportunity of competing, the Council has extended the time for. the receipt of entries til! Thursday.
