AUSTRALIAN WINES.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, August 1. A deputation representing viticultural interests asked Mr Tudor, Federal Minister of Customs, to make inquiries with a view to a reciprocal _ arrangement with New Zealand as regards wines. It was suggested that, in return for preference to Australian wines, remissions of duty might be made on blue cod and oysters. Mr Tudor said he would be glad if ho could do anything to improve any Australian industry, but lie recalled the fact thai, whereas tho Australian Parliament received' the Scddon-Peakin reciprocity treaty favourably, the. New Zealand Parliament turned it down. Now Zealand did not want a remission on fish or oysters then, but on oats.
