KILLED BY A TRUCK.
* FATALITY AT OTTRA. [From Our Correspondf-nt.] OTIRA, March 4. A shocking accident occurred at the tunnel works at eleven o'clock last night, by which one of the tunnel hands, named Matthew Cnrr. lost his life. Carr was walking homeward at that hour along the nmbankmont over which the spoil trucks are run, when he was run over by a rnke of trucks and killed instantly. At the spot where the accident occurred there are no lights, and Carr, who was deaf, evidently neither saw nor heard the trucks coming. Carr, who was about forty years of age, is supposed to have some sisters living in Auckland. An inquest is being held.
