NEWCASTLE STRIKE.

THE INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES ACT. MR WADE ON ITS OBJECT. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 4, 11.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Maroh 4. Mr C. G. Wade, Minister of Justice, has prepared a statement in vindication of the Government's policy in regard to industrial disputes. He declares that the Industrial Disputes Act would never be invoked against the unions that were carrying out the legitimate work of unions. At the same time, it uttered to the unionists, as well as to the public, ample protection against the class of men that were the workers' worst enemy and n menace to the public. THE DISCHARGED FREE LABOURERS. A deputation of the recently discharged free labourers complained to the Minister of Works of their unjust treatment by the employers, and offered to unload the Government coal cargoes. Tho Minister declined to take any action.

THE IMPRISONED STRIKE LEADERS. Tho Labour Council has decided to pay £3 weekly to the families of the imprisoned strike leaders, with ss'additional for every child under sixteen years of age.
