The Peary Arctic Club of New York, under whose auspices Commander Peary has carried out his explorations in the Polar regions, has offered to present, to the British Museum as a gift to the nation one of the two sledges in which|j>he gallant explorer made his recent journey to the North Polo. The sledge offered is the one named Admiral Beaumont, alter the British Arctic explorer of that name, and the Peary Arctic Club, in making the gift, desiro thus to mark their appreciation of tho work done by British pioneer explorers in the.
