At th© Police Court » this morning • S_.__y Maud Bock charged with having, on or about January 4, 1909, committed forgery by forg-hg the name of John Roy to a receipt for £92, and uttering the same to Arthur Ellis. Accused's solicitor asked that she might be allowed to have a chair with her back to the audience, but Mr Widdow#on, S.M., declined the request. Accused pleaded guilty and said, "I - iwould like 1 to express my thanks to the police for the kind way in which they nave carried out their . duties in tHis Satter, and I also thank Mr and Mrs oy for the kindnes- with which I was treated when in service with, them." Chief Detective Herbert said that three other cases were to be preferred (against accused. His Worship said that the accused Would be committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The question of bail could come up when the pther cases (were heard. Accused was then charged with rejioeiving £41 from Margaret Henderson by means of a false pretence, and was (jremanded till Friday.
