A largely attendr-d meeting of .the Otago Sawmillers' Union, resolved ihai the Government should be requested to increase the duty on all foreign and Australian timbers to £s per hundred feet for all sizes less than 12 by 3, whether dressed cr undressed, and to leave the present duty on all timber imported above that size. Also that the Government .should be requested to impose an export duty of 4s on all kauri exported from the dominion.
