* THE FRENCH CONFEDERATION OF LABOUR. A STRIKE. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. (Received August 3, 8.35 a.m.) PARIS, August 2. The police raided tho premises of the French Labour Confederation, and arrested eighteen prominent labour anarchists, whereupon the trade union secretaries appointed a new directing committee, which announced a general twenty-four hours' strike to commence on Monday, as a protest for killing strikers on Thursday. Tho Government is determined to prevent the strike. THE SYDNEY TRAMWAY STRIKE. (Received August 3, 9.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 3. The Chief Commiseionor refused to sanction the Te-employment of the members of the Tramway Executive and twenty-five other men who wore prominent in inciting the strike. A BAKERS' STRIKE. PERTH, August 3. .The bakers have struck owing to the refusal of the masters to introduce day work. The operatives have started a co-operative Kakery.
