A meeting of the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association was held this morning, there being present representatives from Wairarapa and local districts. A resolution of particular importance to Jersey breeders was passed, to the effect that a register should be kept in the herd book of all pure registered Jersey cows capable of showing not less than 121 b butter-fat or making not less thai) 141 b of butter per week, and under the following conditions: Public tests to be undertaken by Agricultural and Pastoral Associations, supervised by the dairy division cf the Department of Agriculture, such to be not less than four days, and on the system adopted by the Manawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the results to be averaged on the basis of such. test. It was also resolved that the Association should offer prizes of £5 and a gold medal for a registered dairy cow and £5 for a cow by a registered dairy bull securing the best result under the conditions prescribed by this Council for butter-fat tests conducted tinder the direction of any Agricultural and Pastoral Association.
