Sheepskins— At the sales 7269 bundles were offered, and 5371 bundles of Australasian were sold. > There was a good attendance and svetive competition. Wool. — Merinoes, fine grades, fiillwoollod, sold at June rates. Merino combingß and fine cross-bred combings were id per lb dearer, but all other qualities were from par to Jd cheaper. The next sales will take place on, September 10. Wool. — The said was animated and prices were very firm. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, Ghristchurch, have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated July 31 : — " Prices of hides are rather dearer, whilst leather and basils are unchanged." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limitdid, has rec&ived the following cablegram from its London houso, und.er date July 31 : — " Merino combing sheepskins have advanced Jd, market active; cross-bred sheepskins are par to dearer. Sales closed firmly."

, The National Mortgage and Agency Company is in receipt of the following cablegram from its London office in regard to the closing of the July series of wool sales: — " Merinoes generally closed firm on a par with opening rates, Continental buyers operating freely. Cross-breds (fine) closed at » decline of 5 per cent on opening rates, bidding being alow. Cross-breds (medium and coarse) closed on a par with opening rates. American buyers operating freely. The tendency is downward."
