PRESIDENT'S CUP.

The match between, the two unbeaten teams, Boys' High School and Linwood, drew a very large crowd to the school ground oil the South Park, and the game proved one of tho best seen this season. Boys' High School won the toss and elected to play with the sun and a light southerly breeze at their baoks. Linwood kicked off, and the balL was returned to half-way. The Green forwards soon got to work, and took the ball down to tne School line, where from a scrum Wilson picked up the ball and drew first blood for the Greens, Payne kicking a nice goal. For some time the School backs tried hard to get on some passing rushes, but the Linwood forwards wasted no time in getting on to them. From a scrum near half-way School got possession of the ball, and passing between Taylor, Crawshaw, Otley and Patterson enabled the latter to touch down behind the posts, Crawshaw adding tihe major points. On resuming the game travelled up and down the field, each side making excellent efforts to score, School relying on their backs and Linwood on their forwards. Half-time was called with the score five all. The second spell opened up more briskly, and for the first ten minutes neither side could claim any advantage, but the School backs were playing well, and from a loose rush Simpson picked up tho ball and passed to Crawshaw, who sent -it on to Patterson, the result at ; goal, failing. Keeping up the attack, Linwcod had a hard time in staving off the continued efforts to score of the School backs. From a ecrum Taylor sent the ball out, and Otley, getting possession, feinted to pass, and ran through the opposition, Crawshaw converting. Linwood now rallied, but could not cross the School line- By long kicking School took the ball to the other end, and from some loose play Crawshaw drop-kicked a fine goal. I 'Pime was called shortly afterwards. jMrF. T. Evans was referee. Owing to the large number of spectators, the game was frequently stopped to allow the Hnea to be cleared. . Kaiapoi and Sydenham A played a drawn game at Kaiapoi, each side scoring a try. Creas was the scorer for Kaiapoi and Fraser for Sydenham. Mr S. Orchard was referee. ChristchuTch C defeated Belfast by six points to three. Mr D. Woods was referee. Merivale B defeated Linwood B by sixteen points to nil, Mr T. W. Reese was referee. Merivale A defeated v/nrist's College after an even game by fourteen points to nil. There was no score in the first spell. For the winners Sergison, Mitchell and Dawe scored tries, Sandman converting one, and Simpson kicked a penalty goal. Mr T. E. Saxtom was referee. Christchurteh B won by default from Albion-, who failed to Taise a team. Christchurch A defeated . Richmond at Richmond Park by three points to nil. Carrard scored a try for the winners. Mr H. F. Garrard was referee. Sydenham B defeated Sumner by nine points to five. Mr J. L. Price -was referee. During the game Sinclair, of the Sydenham team, had' one of his legs broken. FOURTH GRADE. Albion defeated Linwood by default.
