Good Friday was observed in Lyttelton by a cessation of business in th« town, where shops and o^ces , Vwere closed, and by the stoppage Of l#ork on the wharvesj where nothing was done in the way of loading <o>r discharging cargo. Services were conducted at Holy Trinity Church by the Rer Canon Coatee, at St Saviour's, West Lytetlton, by the Rev E. Eliot Chambers, and at St Joseph's Roman Catholio Church by the Rev Father Ooaneyi^A fairly large number of personeucanw -ta the townby train during the aa^, n fpd a number of marine excursions were run. y The s.s.
