GOOD FRIDAY IN CHRISTCHURCH
Splendid weather prevailed in Christ* church yesterday. Large numbers of citizens took advantage of the conditions and went out into the open> Th« trams were crowded nearly all d»y, Sumner, New Brighton and the Port Hills being the favourite resortg, but all the other tramway lines were largely used. People with hobbies and special interests found attractions at the bowling and lawn tennis tournaments and the wheel race meeting at Lancaster Park, and Volunteers were attracted to the military manoeuvres. Easter services were held during tnti day, and the sacred concerto in th* evening were well attended.
