GOOD FRIDAY SERVICES.

♦ Special \Easter services were conducted at the Christchurch Cathedral yesterday. At the morning service the preacher was the Rev Canon Knowles, and at noon a three-hour service was commenced, in the course of which the Rev R. Wilford delivered an address. Evensong was celebrated at 5.30 p.m., and at 8 p.m. Dr Stainer's sacred cantata, "The Crucifixion," was performed by the choir, the congregation being exceptionally large. The impressive and pathetic musio of the cantata was interpreted in a sympathetic and musicianly manner.
