YOUTHFUL CRIMINALS.

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 14. A band of five boys, their ages ranging from ten to fifteen, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a round of burglaries, having entered fifteen premises, and stolen a number of small articles and a quantity of jewellery. The last exploit was on Sunday, when they entered a jeweller's shop, and stole jewellery valued at £50, bringing the total depredations to £110. Most of the articles were recovered when the gang was arrested, but a bag of opals which the boy to whom they were allotted threw away as valueless is missing. Chief-Detective Marsack stated that the boys roamed the streets day and night, and were quite beyond parental control. All were committed to Burnham.
