At a meeting of the directors of the Southland Caledonian Society, it was decided to jiecede from the New Zealand Athletic Union, mie motion was carried almost unanimously, there were nineteen members of a directorate jbf twenty-five present, and two only opposed She motion. One of these is the chairman tof the Southland Centre of the N.Z.A.U., and the other is a- delegate from a country Calejlonian Society. The Society has been {prompted to take this action by the Union's jpecision in respect to the Society's action %n allowing a disqualified competitor to compete in the juvenile dancing event.
