ARREST OF CALDWELL. " DESPERATELY ILL." United Press Association— Bjr Electric Telegraph — Copyright. (Received December 23, 8.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 22. Upon his arrival in New York Caldwell was arrested. He stated that he was suffering from Bright's disease. The Court appointed doctors, who reported that he was desperately ill, whereupon bail was fixed at 5000 dollars, and h« was remanded until January 7. The bail was forthcoming. The news of the issue of a warrant for Caldwell was received by wireless telegraph aboard the Kaiserin Augusfce. Caldwell and the other passengers learnt the news from the daily paper published aboard. Oaldwell arrived in a state bordering on collapse.
