PARIS, August 14. i •G-olcL confessed to the Magistrate that the day before the murder Madame Levin asked him to lend her 500 francs.^ She came to the villa and he paid the' money. She asked for another 500 francs, explaining that she wanted to give it to a banker. He refused. Heated words followed, and in a fit of rage, .accentuated by drink, he stabbed her in the back. Only one; blow was struck. His wife did not participate. He alone cut up the body and placed the dismembered parts in the trunk and ; - Robbery*"-****^ not "the motive, as he had ample means to live.
