AN APPOINTMENT.
ENGLISH SMALL HOLDINGS. (Received August 15, 8.37 a.m.; LONDON, August 14. Mr E. J. Griffith, member of the House of Commons for Anglesey, has been appointed Recorder of Birkenhead. In the House of Commons, in the report stage of the debate on the English Small Holdings Bill, an amendment in favour of the owners-hip system was defeated by 217 to 84.
