The Labour Council, in response to a notification from the Melbourne Trades ""Council that the strike in the building trade had developed a general lock-out, and appealing for funds, decided ;jto. issue a circular asking for sup- ! port. j MELBOURNE, December 7. It is estimated that 3500 men are out of work, as the result of the building 6trike. There is a prospect of a conference being arranged for, with a view to a settlement.
