NORTH OTAGO.
[Per Press Association.] OAMARU, November 15. There is perfect weather for the opening day of the forty-fourth annual rshow of the North. Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Owing to the dry season «nd the Exhibition show seriously affecting district exhibitors, there is a- considerable decrease in the entries compared with -the 1905 show. The totals that year were 907, while this year they number only 888. The exhibits are all of first-class merit, and include many prize-takers at this year's South Island snows. It is gratifying to note that while there is a general decrease in th© number of exhibits, sheep show an increase over those of last year, the numbers being:— l9os, 160 ; 1906, 188. The entries for horses number 219, against 243 last year; cattle 97, as against 132 in 1905.
