RICOARTON •~- / Thursday. The morning broke fine, but a cold southerly wind was blowing, which made matters very uncomfortable. The tan track had dried consideraby since yesterday, and was in good order, while the outside of the coutbo proper up the back stretch, which was opened after the earlier workers had finished, was also in capital order. Kirriemuir, who was the first to make her appearance, traversed seven furlongs at three-quarter speed on the tan, while Goodsight accomplished a working gallop over six furlongs. Signalman showed to more advantage than Clanchattan at'the end of a strongly run seven furlongs, tho last six of which occupied Imm 22Jsec Adrift was responsible for a working ga.lop over five furlongs, while Glenowlet, Stronghold, Chryseis and De Witte, separately, aocomplished light tasks. Ivanoff «md Field Grtn, together, brushed over five furiongs up the back on the outside of the course proper in lmin 10 2-ssec, finishing abreast.- Pas S#ul, with a feather-weight, spurted c, similar distance in lmin 7 4-Ssec. Frano defeated Aimie Soul* by three* lengths over five furlor.gs in lmin 9sec from a standing start, and Volodia epurtrfd a similar distance in lmin 7Bec on'the tan from a flying start. Cross Battery was ovrf,. but was not «Wppeol. After bteakfast, Hilarity and Terrapin galloped five furlongs on th© course The latter, who moved very lazily, was afterwards sent a similar journey alone-, when he moved muoh moift freely. Assegai covered five furlongs at three-quarter speed, while Eurus and Graduated Tax accomplished hali to three-quarter pace exercise over two circuits on the tan. There appeared to be little to choose between Highland Fling and the two-year-old filly by Hotohkies—Alegei ove-r half a mile up the book on the course proper, which they covered in 53 l-ssec. Mariian, who i& bearing »n improved appearance, traversed a circuit on the tan at half-speed, and Lee-JBnfield and Phaetontis, togelher, covered two lounda at half %b& thiee-quarter speed. Stratagem defeated Snowstell over five furlongs on the course proper, which she ran in lmin Biseo, while Gallantry was more than a, match for Pretty Face over a aimilor distance', which occupied lmin 7jsec. Stepdancer accomplished a working gallop over the full distance available on the grace, about six furlongs; but, as the moved laarily, Ayn--Bley afterwords sent her six furlongs on the tan at a working pace. The following horses were responsible for sprinting tasks:—Bagpipes, Korea, Hemlock and the Stepniak— Cabinet colt, while steady to three-quarter exercise was accomplished by Czarevnaj -U^iA^jr, I/agUuid, Tirole and Slow.
