THE PREMIER AT MOSGIEL

Speaking at Mosgiel, on Saturday night the Premier said that he lia< * re T ceived a communication to the effect that a Magistrate in the south, at a public function, referred to the increased amount given to members £i Parliament, and to the fact that the Premier was going about at the esr pens© of the colony, while the un^ fortunate Leader of the Opposition had, to pay his riwn expenses. That s*** 6 " ment would go a long way to sfcotf that any Magistrate making such a- statement wait unfitted for the position . ne held. The Opposition in interring with the Magistrates were in realty sapping the foundations of justice. For years the Magistrates had done credit to tho positions they occupied, and lie would be sorry to so© them drawn into the political Me of the colony.
