MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

There was a large attendance at the monthly meoting of the Rangiora Band of Hope in the Institute Hall on Thursday evening. The Bey T. Fee presided. A programme, consisting of songs, recitations and dialogues, was given by Mrs S. vv ebber, Misses Maude. Anderson, Bell, Aliaa Lilly, Adelene Pvelph, F. Relph, Brown, Ruby Barrett, Ida Ayers and E. Fee, Messrs D. Keir and J. Barrett. Miss Hujrhes, organising agent of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, gave a suitable address. The Ranwora Women's Christian Temperancs Union held an "At Home" yesterday aftprnoon at the Templar Hall, to receive Miss Huches, the organising agent of the Societv, who is now visiting the Canterbury branches. There -was a large attendance, includine. delegates from the Kaiapoi branch. Miss Hughea met with" a most cordial reception, apd she addressed the meeting on the work of the Union. Mrs fionlby, of Kaiapoi. also spoke. Five new members were initiated.
