Drunkenness.— Three first offenders | were each fined 5s and cost?, in default ' twenty-four hours' imprisonmncnt. — Another first offender was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment.— Christina Lawson pleaded guilty- to a charge of having been drunk, and pleaded for another chance. The Bench imposed a fine of 20s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Dbttnk While in" Chaegs-op a Horse and CAB,-^-Archibald Hamill pleaded not guilty to a charge of having been drunk while in'charge of a horse and cab ih ; St Asaph Street, on May 4. After hearing the evidence of Constables Harvey, Hogan and R^an, the accused was found guilty, and fined 20s and .costs, in. default seven daya' imprisonment. : * (Before Mr W. E. Haselden. S.M.) CiVDd Casks. — In- the case Charles Munn ('Mr 'Francis) v. George Moon, claim £8 2s 3d, the defendant did not appear, and judg-ment-was given for the plaintiff, with^costs. A MediCAli Case.— Charles M. Anderson (Mr Salter) claimed £4 4s from Robert Hall for medical attendance. The evidence of the plaintiff was to the effect tMt %» was called in by the defendant to attend a Mrs Shannon) who was an inmate of the defendant's house. The defence was that' Hall did not engage .the plaintiff, that Mrs Shannon was a servant In the house, receiving a fixed, salary, -and that S^ianyofrie was responsible it would be* her husband. His Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff . A Claim fob. Damages.^-A. M. Johnston (Mr Stringer) claimed £25 from C. A. Jacobson (Mr Bruges) iaa ■damkges for the action of v the defendant in having obstructed a natural water-course at Qpawa. Befor9 calling evidence, it was arranged that Mr Haselden should inspect- tlie place where the alleged obstruction took place, and the case was adjourned, the date of the hearing to be» arranged. ,'
