♦— -I The Christdhurch Gun Club held a competition at Hoathcote, on 'Saturday. The following are the details: — EASTER HANDICAP, of £100; first prize £70, second £20/ third flO—P. Mason. (27yda) and J. Reed (floyds) each killed 17 birds, and divided first and second prizes— £4s each. W. H. P. Woodroffe (25yds), J. H. Jones (25yds) and F. Rowell (22yds) each killed 16 birds, and tied for the remaining priae. In shooting off Jones won, after a tun of six kills with first barrel. ■No. 1 SWEEP, £2 «a.«h— P. Maaon (29yds), D. Fraser (32yde7and Nelson (27yds) tied end divided, each killing 6 birds. No. 2 SWEEP, £2 eaeh-J>. Fraser (38yds), W. 31. P. Woodroffe (26yds) and E. A. W. Smith (26yd9) tied and divided, each killing 13 birds. J. Reid, -who divided with Mason in the Easter Handicap, shot 12 out of 13 No. 3 'SWEEP, £1 each— E. A. "W. Smith (25yds) .and J. Graham (27yds) divided', killing 6 birds each. No. 4 SWEEP, £1 each— 'E. A. W. Smith (25yds), 1. Fraser, RoweM and Woodroffe also «ho'fc. D. Fraser -killed .39 out of a possible 46 — 30 -with first barrel from the scratch mark. He used oolonwl ■ammunition. Woodioffie killed 49 out of 54—31 -with first barrel. Smith killed 41 out of 43, and, 29 -with first barrel. Maaon killed 25 out of 30 fired wt, and 18 with' t/h« first bairxei. Stowell brothers 'shot well, as did also J. H. Jones and J. !R«id.
