The search for the «French transport Vienne has proved fruitless. (On January 1, _ Partis message said it was feared that the French transport Vienne, with a crew of fifty, and a cargo of gunpowder, had been lost in the Bay of Biscay, while on the voyage from Rocheforb to London. The French authorities had given her upifor lost. Later, anothen mes* sage said the/ missing transport had arrived at Oran, ,in Algeria, disabled. This, again, was denied on January 14, and the search was renewed.)
