FRENCH HEELS FORBIDDEN.
On tbe walls of the aristocratic golf club at Chicago has been posted the notioe: — "French heels are not allowed on the golf links. By order of the directors." The lady members (relates the " Inter-Ocean ") are wondering " if the jurisdiction of the directors would extend so far us to regulate the length and breadth of pompadours,* the dimensions of the poke hat, the prescribed distance for the rolling up of the sleeves, the turning down of the collar-, and whether open-work stockings would be permitted."
