SALICYLIC FOOD TESTS.
On October 13 twelve young clerks in the service of the Government at/ Washington began a diet of fare containing salicylic acid at Dr Wiley^s official cafe at the Bureau of Chemistry, says the Washington correspondent of the "New York Herald." Like the previous tests with 'boracic anid. the object of the experiment is to ascertain the truth about the alleged harmfulness of food so preserved. The clerks will be given three salicylic meals a day, and the tests will continue for eight months.
