SYDNEY WOOL SALES.

SYDNEY, July 24.
The first series of local wool sales has concluded. Good sorts were more readily taken towards the close, and medium and inferior declined fully 5 per cent compared with previous sales.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Compnny, Limited, hns received the following cable message from London, dated July 22: —
Tallow.— Tallow has declined 6d per cwt since last report. (Last quotations were. 28s 6d for fine mutton and 28s 3d for good beef tallow, per cwt.)
Wool. — The sales closed to-day with spirit. Since'the close of last sales, values for the -undermentioned descriptions of wool have altered as follows : — Coarse, greasy cross-bred is higher by id to Id per lb. Medium, greasy cross-bred, medium slipe cross-bred, greasy cross-bred lambs and greasy merino lambs are higher by i'd per lb. Fine, greasy cross-bred is higher by par to £d per lb. Scoured merino, medium ancl inferior, . is lower by to ld, greasy merino, medium and inferior, is lower by £d, and scoured crossbred is lower by par to £d per lb.
