STRANDING OF THE NIWARU.
THE VESSEL REFLOATED. [Per Press Association.]
NAPIER, July 24,
Although the Niwaru waa successfully refloated yesterday, the pumps had made but little impression' on the water in No. 4 hold up to this morning, when additional pumps got to work. The Marine Superintendent is confident that repairs will be effected to enable the steamer to proceed to Auckland. A heavy sea in the bay to-day prevents lighters working the cargo. The lighter, Queen,: which foundered on Tuesday night, is breaking up.
