[From Our Cobresi'ondent.] WELLINGTON, July 24. The Premier has forwarded the following letter to Archbishop Redwood : —

" Dear Archbishop, — Though not unexpected, the grief of all our Catholic colonists will be none the less at the loss they and their Church have sustained by the death of his. Holiness Pope Leo XIII. He is now passed away, full of years and honours, deeply regretted by tho»3 of_his own faith, revered and admired for his -Christian qualiticy by all classes and creeds, and yourself and the clergy and Catholics of this diocese hnve my sincere and heartfelt sympathy. Tlirough his Excellency the Governor, to tho Secretary of State for the Colonies, our sympathy is being conveyed to the Papal authorities at Home."
